You’ve done everything you knew how to do
as far as reducing heat is concerned. You are wearing the thinnest shorts and a
vest and have a hand fan, a box fan and an active ceiling fan. However, none of
these seems to work. The problem is with your air conditioner unit. Surviving
even a single minute without an AC system during summer is almost impossible.
Unfortunately, it might be broken beyond repair, and the only way
out is to replace it. The question is, how long will the replacement take? The
length of time depends on several factors, some of which we are going to
discuss below:
The smaller the unit, the less time it’ll take to replace it. We buy
AC systems depending on the size and shape of our homes. A smaller home will do
perfectly okay with a smaller unit, while a larger home will need a large unit.
Additionally, the size of the AC unit you buy will also be determined by your
home’s total volume. For instance, homes with higher ceilings require a larger
unit than one with lower ceilings.
The type of unit you choose to install is also a determining factor
of the time the project will take. An ordinary split AC system with two
components- an evaporator and a condenser have to be installed separately.
However, a ductless mini-split has just a single unit as the air handler is
built-in. Therefore, the standard split AC will take longer time than the
ductless mini-split.
The location of the unit plays a significant role in the time taken
to complete a replacement. If the AC unit is hidden, replacement will take
longer than if it’s in open space. The technician will take into consideration
factors like outdoor condenser and line set. High-rise structures, second
floors, fenced areas, etc., will be more challenging than the side or back of
the house.
Overall, replacing an older unit takes a shorter time compared to a
fresh installation. This is because many of the components have already been
set up. Regardless of your situation, never try DIY in AC installation and
replacements. At Fresh Air, LP, we are here to offer you all the professional
help you require. Give us call today for a personalized inspection and estimation.
